This recipe was first published as part of our Get to know feature on the Martini.

1 dash bitters
2 dashes Maraschino Liqueur
30ml Old Tom Gin
120ml Vermouth
2 dashes simple syrup

Shake all the ingredients with two small lumps of ice. Add two dashes of gum syrup. Strain into a cocktail glass. (Note: I have seen the drink made with both sweet and dry vermouth.)
