60ml Calvados (or substitute other apple brandy)
20ml Lemon juice
Shake over ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist or apple slice. For a fancy presentation, dip the edge of the glass in grenadine and rim with sugar.
Although the Jack Rose was first made with applejack, calvados tends to give better results. While many recipes call for lime juice, lemon seems best. As always, homemade is best for grenadine.
