A round up of today’s (March 16) essential events.
Welcome to day one of Singapore Cocktail Festival, where we round up a list of the must-see masterclasses and guest bartending of today.
The biggest of all, arguably, is Alex Kratena of non-profit P(our) and Luke Whearty of Operation Dagger, who will be taking about how they come up with ideas and integrate them into their bars. Hint: inspirations don’t necessarily have to come from classic cocktails.
At night, a wealth of guest bartending shifts await, with two notable Japan-flavoured events. The first happens at Nutmeg & Clove, where legend Hidetsugu Ueno of Bar High Five is joined by former and current World Class champions Ryu Fuji and Tsuyoshi Miyazaki will be making their takes on classic drinks.
At Gibson, Hiroyasu Kayama of Bar Ben Fiddich and Mari Nakano of The Peninsula hotel Tokyo will showcase how two of Tokyo’s most glamourous districts, Ginza and Shinjuku, like their cocktails.
Other highlights this evening include former Speak Low bartender Faye Chen manning the bar at Jigger & Pony, Attapon De-Silva of Q&A Bangkok at Neon Pigeon, and a Bar Termini pop up at The Cufflink Club.
