After the success of PDT’s month-long pop-up in January, Hong Kong’s Landmark Mandarin Oriental is going bigger still for its second bar residence. Hidetsugu Ueno, the latest winner of International Bartender of the Year at the Spirited Awards, and his Bar High Five team are flying in from Tokyo for a two-month stint at the MO Bar from September 1.

Ueno-san’s Ginza bar will be recreated in The Shell, where he and bartenders Kaori Kurakami and Yuriko Naganuma will be serving 14 cocktails they’ve created specifically for the pop-up.

Much like the PDT pop-up, where the hotel’s culinary director Richard Ekkebus reimagined the New York speakeasy’s signature hot dogs, there will be a complementary gastronomy created for the cocktails.

With a limited capacity – two five-person tables can be booked each night and the other 10 seats are for walk-in guests – you best reserve to ensure a seat for the third best bar in Asia’s Hong Kong vacation.
