Entries to the global competition are now open to bartenders from Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

The Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition is back and bigger than ever, this year open to entries from 30 countries and cruise liners across six continents – including eight countries in Asia.

Agave loving bartenders will have the chance show off their knowledge, skills and commitment to perfection through an innovative Patrón Tequila-based cocktail and engaging presentation. Entrants are judged on their cocktail’s appearance, originality, service, and, most importantly, flavour.

Once selected, successful applicants will then have to shake it out at their respective regional heats. Bartenders from Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia will head to Bali’s Potato Head Beach Club for the Southeast Asia regional final in mid-September; Japan and South Korea finalists will battle in Seoul in early October; contestants from Taiwan, Hong Kong and China will compete in Guangzhou in late October.

Following the regional finals, the 22 regional winners will travel to Mexico in January 2020 to duke it out against their fellow finalists at the incredible Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico. A panel of judges made up of industry experts will be listening, watching and tasting to decide who deserves the 2019 Global Patrón Perfectionist title.

Of the competition, Matt Sykes, senior director of international marketing for Patrón says: “Patrón Perfectionists is more than a cocktail competition. Through this initiative, we are building and supporting a community that brings bartenders together through the shared desire to make great drinks that also transcend the tequila category and elevate this sometimes-misunderstood spirit to new heights.”
