Eddie Nara (whisky expert, Hong Kong) at Whisky & Words (Hong Kong)
Founder of Barrell Concepts and certified whisky ambassador, consultant and trainer Eddie Nara will be bringing his whisky love to Hong Kong’s latest whisky den. Head over to Whisky & Words to try one of Eddie’s three cocktails, including Obsessed, with preserved plum-infused Monkey Shoulder, peach syrup, lemon juice, egg white and peach bitters.

Koco Widyatno (The Ritz-Carlton Bar & Lounge, Macau) at Chihuly Lounge (Singapore)
Macau’s first (and only) bar on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2018 – currently ranking at 48 – specialises in gin, featuring over 160 different bottles. Bar captain Koco Widyatno heads the Singapore side as part of Gin Jubilee Singapore 2018, serving up his gin-based cocktails at Chihuly Lounge over two nights.

Aaron Grendon (Tropic City, Bangkok) at Rabbit Hole (Ho Chi Minh City)
The global winner of Chivas Masters 2018 and head bartender of Bangkok’s Tropic City will be crossing the border to Vietnam. Catch his afternoon masterclass and guest shift at Ho Chi Minh City’s Rabbit Hole in early December.

Hidetsugu Ueno (Bar High Five, Tokyo) at Bar De Luxe (Hong Kong)
Ueno-san returns to his Hong Kong outpost Bar De Luxe for two nights only. Along with senior bartender Ivin Hui, Ueno-san will create special cocktail menus for both evenings, and to celebrate the bar’s two year anniversary, the bar will treat each guest to a glass of champagne and a special canape on the house on December 8.

Antonio Lai and Toby Lo (Room 309 and Quinary, Hong Kong) Seoul tour
Cocktail maestro and industry legend Antonio Lai will be joined by colleague and Bacardi Legacy Hong Kong 2018 finalist Toby Lo, repping both Hong Kong stalwart Quinary and the group’s latest edition Room 309 on a three night tour of some of Seoul’s best cocktail dens.

One of Beijing’s best bars joins forces with Seoul’s best, when Warren Pang will deliver a masterclass and guest shift at Charles H at the Four Seasons Seoul.

Jerrold Khoo (Jigger & Pony, Singapore) at The Moon (Hotel Monopoli) and Sofia (The Gunawarman), Jakarta
Jigger & Pony’s bar manager Jerrold Khoo will be doing two guest shifts in Jakarta. At his first – at Hotel Monopoli – he’ll be shaking up cocktails such as Hawker’s Highball: a clarified milk punch made with Johnnie Walker (his Diageo World Class concoction), plus two Jigger & Pony signatures – Dry Rob Roy and Yuzu Whisky Sour. On his second night, Jerrold will head to the The Gunawarman, serving the Ginseng Old Fashioned made with chrysanthemum ginseng syrup; the Barley Party with carbonated barley water and Tiger Beer foam, and the Tanglin Gate Sour with orchid tea and ginger yoghurt syrup.

The Old Man (Hong Kong) at Manhattan (Singapore)
Two of the best bars in Asia collide for a pop-up, when Hong Kong’s best bar takes over Singapore’s best bar. The team will be serving favourites from the bar’s labour-intensive menu of Hemingway-inspired libations. Don’t miss the chance to try signatures like the The Sun Also Rises (copra fat-washed applejack, rotovapped fresh curry gin, sweet vermouth sous-vide pandan leaves, kaffir lime) and For Whom the Bell Tolls (cocoa-nibs sous-vide batavia arrack, sour strawberry, rotovapped burnt butter rum, avocado burst).

David Ong and Jericson Co (The Curator, Manila) at Rabbit Hole (Ho Chi Minh City)
The boys behind Manila’s best bar will head to Ho Chi Minh City’s Rabbit Hole to share their knowledge of bar culture in the Philippines and community and growth through stories and local flavours in a masterclass and guest shift.

Imam Azzai (Arrack & Spice, Jakarta) at Jigger & Pony (Singapore)
Bartender-owner Imam of Arrack & Spice in Jakarta will be presenting signature cocktails that show off Indonesian flair. Drinks include the coco-pandan-infused gin Es Campur To The Moon; the jasmine gin, rosso and Campari Sirop Orson Negroni; and the Kartini, made with reposado tequila, Galanga Islay reduction and clarified tamarind.

A Tale of Two Bars (#FindtheLockerRoom, Bangkok; Nutmeg & Clove, Singapore) at Hope & Sesame (Guangzhou)
Colin Chia and members of both bar teams head in from Guangzhou for a #FindtheLockerRoom and Nutmeg & Clove (number 33 on Asia’s 55 Best Bars) bar takeover at Hope & Sesame, DMBA 2018’s China Bar of the Year. This one’s bound to be a lively evening, with the chance to try drinks from some of Asia’s best loved bars.

Hisashi Kishi, Hidestsugu Ueno and Nick Tse at #FindTheLockerRoom (Bangkok)
This ‘founders and friends’ guest shift features four bar stars in one night. Catch Kishi from 8-9.30pm, Ueno-san from 8-11.30pm and Tse from 9pm-12.30am.

Martin Hudak (Maybe Sammy, Sydney; opening 2019) at Hope & Sesame (Guangzhou)
Mr Black global brand ambassador, former senior bartender of the American Bar, champion of World Coffee in Good Spirits 2017, and part of the team about to open new Sydney cocktail bar Maybe Sammy, Hudak is coming to China to whip out some coffee-inspired cocktails at Hope & Sesame, DMBA 2018’s China Bar of the Year.

Amir Javaid (John Anthony, Hong Kong at Whisky & Words (Hong Kong)
Amir Javaid, bar manager of Hong Kong’s new modern Cantonese hotspot John Anthony, will be heading to another new Hong Kong spot – Whisky & Words – to serve three cocktails based around sustainability, including a cocktail of spiced orange marmalade cordial using the fruit’s juice, husk and peel with hazelnut oil-washed whiskey, white peach soda and cacao nib and chilli bitters.

Elad Baruch (The Clavis Club, Tel Aviv) at Vida Rica (Macau)
A truly hidden bar, Clavis Club, hailing from Tel Aviv, Israel, is tucked inside a Mexican restaurant, behind a secret door with a code that changes daily. Owner Elad Baruch allows his bar’s whereabouts to spread by word of mouth through key people (Clavis means key in Latin), and in order to get the address and the code, one must discover the details through key members. Head over to Macau’s Vida Rica to get a taste of this hidden bar just before Christmas.
