The gin giant welcomes a new head bartender coming in fresh from a long stint at some of NYC’s best bars. By Holly Graham.

Gin shrine Atlas has announced Californian Jesse Vida as its new head bartender, taking the position after Roman Foltan’s departure.

Vida takes the reigns with over ten years of experience under his belt, and has worked at some of the world’s best bars including Booker + Dax and Dead Rabbit. Vida was most recently behind the stick at New York’s BlackTail, which entered this year’s World’s 50 Best Bars list at number 41, with Atlas ranking at number eight in the world and number four in Asia.

Under Vida, BlackTail also won Best New American Cocktail Bar at The Spirited Awards at Tales of the Cocktail, where Atlas’ ex-head bartender Foltan made the top four for International Bartender of the Year, and the bar itself made the top four for Best International Cocktail Bar and World’s Best Spirits Selection for its impressive collection of over 250 gins.
