The Bar Awards Bangkok announces its Top 10s

Here’s your introduction to some of the city’s best f&b personalities and venues. By Natasha Hong.

Two weeks after the Public Nomination phase of Bangkok’s first ever Bar Awards, the Top 10s have been named. Serving as a helpful list of the best venues and bartenders in town, the Top 10s are also in the running for the city’s 12 prizes, which will be honoured at an industry party at Zuma Bangkok on April 23.

This year’s Public Nomination period for The Bar Awards Bangkok received a total of 370 recommendations from March 1 to 14, following the announcement of the city’s categories decided upon by the city’s Lead Panel. The super-list was then turned over to The Panel to narrow down the nominees to the best ten in their respective categories. Made up of a multi-faceted group of industry leaders, The Bar Awards team gathered a group of 40 members including bartenders and owners for The Panel, and also introduced “chefs, sommeliers, distributors, brand representatives, writers, editors and consumers” to add meaningful diversity to the peer-reviewed process.

But before the Bangkok’s f&b community get together for their big Bar Awards industry weekend – more details to come on April 3 – The Panel will vote and rank their top choices in each category before the winners for the different awards are tallied.
