Former 28HKS head bartender first stop is Speak Low this Wednesday.

The real big gin news last week was not Beam Suntory buying a majority stake in London distiller Sipsmith but the appointment of Arijit Bose as Monkey 47’s first-ever APAC brand ambassador.

In his first trip with the new title, Bose is travelling to Shanghai to guest-bartend at Speak Low this Wednesday (December 21).

“I am super happy to join Monkey 47 which is an exciting, cool, cocktail-focused brand at a beautiful stage in its development, and to be working with Julien Nicolay here in Asia and of course Alex Stein,” said Bose.

The new Monkey 47 man is also looking forward to the travel. “There are approximately 21 countries that I am going to be handling, so it’s going to be Monkey 47 Clover Clubs all the way for the next few years – see you all around for a drink soon.”

The Indian-born, Singapore-based bartender first came to the city in 2014 as head bartender at 28 Hong Kong Street. Before that, in India, he was the founder of Getafix and The Delhi Cocktail Club and founding partner of Indian bar consultancy Bar Back Collective.
