Singapore will once again be awash with whisky, as the annual Whisky Live convention returns to the city-state next month with rare drams, masterclasses and a pop-up bar manned by some of the country’s top barmen.

Taking place on 28 and 29 November at Capella hotel on Sentosa island, the event will feature about 100 brands of whiskies and other spirits, including limited releases and very old vintages as well as bottles from closed distilleries.

A host of masterclasses will also take place during the weekend. Tippling Club head bartender Kamil Foltan will lead a session on Abelour’s double cask maturation, Kavalan master blender Ian Chang will talk about how the distillery produces the world’s best whisky and rum expert Luca Gargano will host two talks on the sugarcane spirit.

Additionally, a pop-up bar will run onsite for two days, with shifts manned by bartenders from some of the country’s top bars, like 28 Hong Kong Street, Antidote, Sugarhall, L’Aiglon, The Library, Tippling Club and Spiffy Dapper.
