Hong Kong joins Tokyo and Singapore on the World’s 50 Best Bars list.

Last night saw the unveiling of Drinks International’s annual World’s 50 Best Bar Awards at One Mayfair, London. As with the previous year, Alex Kratena’s Artesian at the Langham Hotel (pictured above) took top slot with London’s Nightjar in second.

While still few in number, Asian bars showed greater promise than previous years. In third place, Hidetsugu Ueno’s Bar High Five climbed 19 places to take third place while Singapore’s 28 Hong Kong Street – featured the latest edition of DRiNK – climbed from 42nd to 10th place. Also from Singapore, Tippling Club finished in 45th place.

However, the big news from Asia was Hong Kong’s first ever ranking: Antonio Lai’s Quinary debuted in the chart in 38th place. Still, though, no bar yet from China.
